Frequently Asked Questions

Our Cattle are Grass-fed year round but due to our climate they require to be fed stockpiled grass or swath grazed cereals/legumes species. Most our cattle receive a 3-6 lbs of grain a day throughout the winter months to ensure we are meeting their nutrition needs for energy and protein.  Our cattle's rations are determined with the help of a trusted livestock nutritionist.

Our cattle spend their entire lives out on pasture or on stubble fields they are never confined in a feedlot.

We seek to be caring stewards of our animals and we believe in doing things as naturally as we are able. We do this by using no added hormones or unnecessary antibiotics. In very rare and critical situations, our cattle may be given antibiotics, but that is only if that animals health and wellbeing is at risk.

We’ve gotten this question a lot recently. We have not and will not be administering this to our cattle at any point. mRNA vaccines are not approved for use in cattle, and this type of vaccine is not even commercially available for use in Canada.

Our Sheep are Grass-fed in the summer but due to our climate they require to be fed a high energy diet in the winter which includes the use of Barley and a protein supplement to ensure they maintain a safe and healthy pregnancy as the majority of our ewes lamb in December & January which can be very cold and cause stress to a pregnancy.

Our Lambs spend the majority of their lives indoors as Alberta winters can be too cold for the little lambs. Once they are weaned at 60 days off mom they are put onto a barley and fiber pellet till they are finished which depending on the customer is anywhere from 100-125 lbs.
